Starting at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 1st, the Marienplatz will transform into a vibrant celebration spot filled with live music, family-friendly activities, and delicious street food. Best of all? Entry is completely free!
What to Expect at the Kulturfest 2025
Three energetic bands will take the stage, offering a mix of genres that will get you dancing:
- Toula Troubles — Munich’s very own music collective will kick off the festival.
- Loop Roots — Winners of the “Running for the Best” Newcomer Contest, organized by Kreisjugendring München-Land.
- Rogers — A punk rock band from Düsseldorf will bring the festival to an electrifying close.
Meanwhile, kids can enjoy a dedicated play area inside the courtyard of the Rathaus, with special games and activities turning it into a magical experience.
Throughout the event, food and drink stalls will be available so you can enjoy tasty snacks while soaking up the atmosphere.
More than Music: Advocacy and Community
Before the cultural festivities begin, the DGB (German Trade Union Confederation) will host a rally at Marienplatz. From Marienplatz to Kaufingerstraße, until 2:30 PM, various organizations and unions will introduce themselves — including the Catholic Workers’ Movement, Tenant Associations, and even the fan group Löwenfans gegen Rechts.
The festival is organized by the DGB Kreisverband München, in collaboration with the Cultural Department of Munich and the Feierwerk association.
